Resort Centre Karemajat

Resort centre Karemajat provides accommodation services with a 58-bed capacity in two-, three- and four-bed apartments and four-bed cottages that are all equipped with essential modern amenities. Our 200-seat panorama restaurant offers the delicacies of Lapland. It is fully licensed and hosts dances with a live orchestra on the weekends. Karemajat guests can also avail of our two saunas and a whirlpool bath free of charge. An outdoor hot tub can also be prepared to accompany the sauna on request.

The rugged landscapes of Southern Lapland, the presence of wilderness and a terrain that offers a challenge for all levels of ability attract active fitness enthusiasts and slower-paced admirers of nature’s beauty alike. Well-tended ski trails, which serve as fitness paths for walkers and cyclists in summer, start right from the yard of the holiday resort. Marked nature trails (4 km) that go around the hill start from our yard in summertime. An 18-basket disc golf course was built in the grounds surrounding the hotel in summer 2014. You need go no further than Karemajat if you are looking for Lapland.

The resort is located on the summit of Ainiovaara in Ylitornio. The view over the hills of the river valley, the River Tornio and Sweden across the water is magnificent. The centre of Ylitornio is just 3 km from Karemajat and Sweden is 10 km away. The border hardly exists here in practice. People from both sides of the river, Finns and Swedes, cooperate actively in all manner of things. You, too, should pop over to Sweden for some shopping and to see the sights while vacationing at Karemajat.

Lapland’s laid-back atmosphere, a functioning totality in a glorious setting and reasonably priced programme services are what Karemajat has to offer to holidaymakers and other guests. We have also organised several successful conferences. Admire the glorious scenery from our terrace in summertime. The hotel rooms are equipped with modern amenities and the four-bed apartment has, among other things, its own kitchen, a clothes-drying closet and a dedicated entrance. The 200-seat panorama restaurant is fully licensed and offers local specialities like cloudberry deserts and always serves just-baked bread. The holiday cottages can accommodate four people.
