Aavasaksa Ski Resort

The Aavasaksa ski slopes are located approximately 10 km north of Ylitornio church village. The slope has one lift and three slopes. The longest slope is about a kilometer long and the height difference is 115 m.

At the bottom of the slope, there is a 60 m carpet lift, with which the youngest in the family can safely try the lift. The carpet lift takes you to the snow tube and sledding hill. Snow tubes are rented from the equipment rental shop opposite the cafe.

The ski slope is child-friendly. The slopes are perfect for practicing skiing, even for the smallest members of the family. The affordable price level is also suitable for families with children. You can get tickets from Café Aava and you can rent skiing equipment from the rental office at the lower lift station.

A ski trail that goes around the entire Aavasaksa mountain and leaves the ski center. The length of the ring route is 8.2 km.

CAFÉ AAVA

At Café Aava, you can warm up indoors e.g. with a mug of hot chocolate on a frosty day. The cafe is open during the opening hours of the slopes.

Slopes are open depending on weather conditions. Heavy snowfall or cold weather can affect the opening times of the slopes. The temperature limit is -20 degrees Celsius.
